Professional CPR & AED

For healthcare providers such as Lifeguards, EMS personnel, physican assistants, doctors, dentists, nurses, and respiratory therapists who must have a credential (card) documenting successful completion of a CPR Course.

Standard First Aid

For those who have a duty to respond to a first aid emergency because of job responsibilities or regulataroy requirements.

Lifeguarding – Ages 16 and older (15 and up if Red Cross Lifeguarding**)

This is a certification course. Students should be able to swim 500 yards and tread water for one minute. Employment opportunities are available at the Old Town Orono YMCA for those who excel in the class.

Challenge for Recertification

Don’t have time to take a renewal class? Challenge your certifications in CPR/AED, First Aid and YMCA lifeguarding. Participants will be required to pass the necessary written test and to perform all practical skills with proficiency. No instruction time or practice time is provided as part of this program; therefore students must practice ahead of time on their own.

The Masters Swim Team provides Adults the opportunity to swim competitively. This team offers three practices each week and affords swimmers the chance to improve stroke techniques and their competitive edge.
