    1. Assess client needs, review medical history and perform fitness testing.

    2. Instruct clients in correct exercise technique.

    3. Assist clients in fitness goal setting and attainment of those goals.

    6. Keep accurate client records.

    Qualifications:

    1. Required certifications: CPR, First Aid, AED, national certification (ACE, AFAA, NSCA, ACSM).

    2. Advanced experience and technical knowledge of weight training and the health/fitness field.

    3. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

    Physical Demands:

    1. Ability to perform all physical aspects of the position; including walking, standing, bending, reaching, and lifting.

  • Position Summary:

    Provide safe transportation to and from program sites. May also provide support in other areas as assigned.

    Essential Functions:

    1. Drives bus safely according to YMCA policies and procedures and state laws.

    2. Completes thorough before-and-after trip checks each day and record all information. Records gas level, mileage, and maintenance on designated forms. Cleans out bus each day.

    3. Promotes safety at all times by keeping first aid supplies fully stocked.

    4. Ensures that bus rules are announced and followed.

    5. Communicates regularly with other staff members and supervisor.

    Qualifications:

    1. Minimum one year work experience as a bus driver.

    2. Possess appropriate class license.

    3. Knowledge of the rules/guidelines related to commercial passenger vehicles (bus).

    4. Certifications required within 30 days of hire: CPR and First Aid.

    5. Desire and ability to work with children.

    Physical Demands:

    1. Ability to safely drive a bus for long periods of time.

    2. Ability to respond to emergency situations.

    3. Visual and auditory ability to identify and respond to environmental and other hazards related to the activity.

  • Position Summary:

    Maintain safe swimming conditions in the pool, deck, and surrounding areas. Create a safe and positive atmosphere that promotes member safety and engagement in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures.

    Essential Functions:

    1. Maintain constant surveillance of the pool area.

    2. Know/review all emergency procedures and respond to emergency situations immediately in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures. Complete related reports as required.

    3. Maintain effective relationships with the members, participants and other staff.

    4. Know, understand, and consistently apply safety rules, policies and guidelines for the pool and aquatic area.

    5. Maintain accurate records as required by the YMCA and/or the state Health Department code.

    6. Perform equipment checks and ensure appropriate equipment is available as needed.

    7. Check the pool for hazardous conditions when arriving.

    8. Perform chemical testing at appropriate times of the day, as required, and take appropriate action.

    9. Participate in active cleaning duties and ensure the cleanliness of the pool area and locker rooms at all times.

    10. Attend all staff meetings and training as required.

    3. Current YMCA Lifeguarding or Red Cross Lifeguarding and obtain YMCA Lifeguarding Certification within 60 days of hire.

    4. Ability to maintain certification-level of physical and mental readiness.

    5. Must demonstrate lifeguard skills in accordance with YMCA standards.

    Physical Demands:

    1. Ability to pass lifeguard water test.

    2. Must be able to remain alert.

    3. Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods.

    4. Adequate ability to hear noises and distinguish distress signals.

    5. Ability to continuously scan all areas of the pool with clear vision.

    6. Ability to perform strenuous physical tasks necessary for a water rescue.

    7. Ability to communicate verbally, including projecting voice across distance in normal and loud situations.

  • Position Summary:

    Assist with supervision of a group of children in the After School Activity Program. Provide a quality experience to children and parents focused on YMCA core values: honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring.

    Essential Functions:

    1. Assist in supervision of a group of children.

    2. Assist with program activities that are culturally relevant, developmentally appropriate and consistent with YMCA core values.

    3. Adhere to program standards including safety and cleanliness standards.

    Ability to plan, lead and participate in a range of activities in a variety of outdoor/indoor settings.

  • Position Summary:

    Provide direct leadership, instruction and motivation for students in swimming classes.

    Essential Functions:

    1. Instructs swimming lessons as assigned in accordance with YMCA guidelines, having prepared lesson plans accordingly.

    2. Develop positive relationships with members and participants and provide motivational support and guidance.

    3. Encourage member and parent involvement and identify potential volunteers.

    4. Convey information on aquatics programs and schedules and as appropriate; refers members and participants to other programs.

    5. Maintain records as required (i.e. attendance, progress reports, etc.).

    6. Attend staff meetings and trainings as scheduled.

    7. Follow all YMCA policies, rules, regulations and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures. Complete incident and accident reports as necessary.

    8. Organize and puts away needed class equipment. Reports damaged equipment.

    9. Train and supervise class aides as assigned.

    Deliver excellent service to all members, guests, and program participants. Respond to member and guest needs, promote memberships and programs, and maintain cleanliness and organization of the lobby area.

    Essential Functions:

    1. Provide excellent service to members, guests, and program participants in the branch and on the phone, contributing to member retention.

    2. Interview and/or tour prospective members; sell memberships.

    3. Build relationships with members; help members connect with one another and to the YMCA.

    4. Handle and resolve membership concerns and inform supervisor of unusual situations or unresolved issues.

    5. Apply all YMCA policies dealing with member services.

    6. Attend all staff meetings and training as required.
